Sonya Harris, a retired special education teacher, has dedicated her life to promoting garden-based education in schools and community organizations. Through her nonprofit, The Bullock Garden Project, she has received numerous accolades for her commitment to improving children's academic, mental, and physical well-being. Sonya's passion has taken her across the United States where she shares her gardening journey and inspires others to reconnect with the Earth. She is a Rutgers Certified Master Gardener, a board member of KidsGardening.com, and a contributing writer for various websites. Sonya also partners with schools, organizations, and industry leaders to bring garden education to marginalized communities and increase food security. She is a seed farmer and co-coordinator of educational programming with Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance.
