Dr. Elizabeth Bach is the research scientist at The Nature Conservancy’s Nachusa Grasslands preserve in Illinois, USA. Her research expertise focuses on soil ecology, exploring how belowground biology supports tallgrass prairie ecosystems through plant-soil interactions and nutrient and carbon cycling. Elizabeth holds an MSc from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale and PhD from Iowa State University. Prior to joining The Nature Conservancy, she was the executive director of the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative.
